with a slipper ...
with a slipper clutch it really isn't necessary.
I've been learning ...
I've been learning to ride, I started off with just letting the clutch out slowly like the motorbike manual for the bike says. I've been practising blipping while downshifting and am getting the hang of that now, though it'd take more practise to do whilst braking hard. It's good to be proficient with both. The motorcycle manual says to not blip to save fuel. I'm thinking its actually easier to just let the clutch out slowly than blipping while braking. I've got the hang of doing that
You got it!
You got it!
And that is why ...
And that is why blipping doesn't work for everyone - the harder you squeeze the front brake the more difficult it is to blip and not upset the chassis. Jason's technique is to not blip, and it's something that applies to motorcycles that have slipper clutches AND traditional.
Ben Spies ...
Ben Spies sometimes uses all his fingers, seems to work for him!
Gixxer 1000? Is ...
Gixxer 1000? Is that what the yellow switch is, is the map toggle? Or is that a flash-to-pass switch? I find it incredibly hard to blip the throttle especially when hard on the brakes like that without upsetting the chasis, no matter what techniques I try for blipping.
Why is he using ...
Why is he using his whole hand to pull in the lever that's like a beginner mistake you usually only use one to two fingers?
That motorcycle ...
That motorcycle DOES have a slipper clutch - it comes stock. And he releases the clutch between each downshift. He doesn't downshift all at once. The technique Pridmore teaches at the school keeps blipping to a minimum which allows you to squeeze that front brake without upsetting the chassis.
Hello! You mean ...
Hello! You mean you shouldn't blip it when you downshift 2 or 3 gears?

I've been to the school. I give JP a lot of credit for having an ace of a program. You WILL learn a lot and become a better rider in a very short time if you apply the techniques they teach you.
great vid. It's ...
great vid. It's exactly how I tell people to shift. One gear down, give it a blip. 2 or 3gears down, feather it out. Or you can go be a P**SY and get a slipper clutch and forget all about clutch control.
Interesting!! Just ...
Interesting!! Just listening the engine match revs with rear wheel, you'd think he was blipping. But the clutch cam shows him slipping the clutch as JP is feathering out on corner entry, as well as backing it in with trailbraking. I think JP is a combination slipper/blipper \m/

Awesome! Thanks for the help!
Excellent video, I ...
Excellent video, I especially like the small clutch cam view in the corner of the display so you can see the course position relative to clutch actions. Thanks!
Yeah, once I get ...
Yeah, once I get some money I'm guna do the school at NHIS. This is a pretty good video. Interesting to see how he grabs the clutch even when he's going into a corner that doesn't require a downshift.

I'm about to attend his school at Willow Springs on the 25th, hope to finally ride like I know what I'm doing, not think I know what I'm doing.
